Katelyn & Julian are high school sweethearts!

Katelyn & Julian met at Conroe High School in 2016. Julian tried his best to woo Katelyn with his artistic abilities on a biology assignment, but Katelyn was unimpressed. Just kidding! Julian finally asked her out their sophomore year of high school. They went on a few dates, but ultimately broke up later that same year. The reason? Julian was too nice of a guy! No, no - just not the right timing.

But Julian was determined to get her back. They remained friends, and senior year, Julian begged Katelyn to give him another chance. Katelyn finally caved (not really - she just liked making him work for it). Then, their fate was sealed.

Katelyn & Julian graduated high school in 2020 and both attended The University of Texas at Austin. Experiencing college and exploring a new city together was so special. They really grew up there together. They made new friends, tried new restaurants, played new sports and got into new hobbies, and truly built a foundation for the life they wanted together.

And lucky for them, they got summers together back home too, where they grew closer with each other’s families. There was chicken minis and pickleball every weekend with Natalie and Levi, and a million different versions of Monopoly with Kayla.

Julian graduated before Katelyn finished her master’s degree. But that didn’t stop him from driving to Austin every weekend to see her, even if it was just to sit beside her while she studied. At this point, they were apart, but they had never been closer.

During this season, Katelyn & Julian also grew closer to the Lord in their own time, and both began to feel that God was pointing them toward marriage. For Katelyn, it felt like it was taking five-ever for Julian to propose. But not so coincidentally, the day after Katelyn finished reading The Joy in the Waiting, a devotional about trusting God in a season of waiting, Julian proposed to her. Looking back, it was such a sweet reminder that God’s timing is always better than our own.

Julian proposed at Zilker Park with Millie by his side. Katelyn didn’t hear a word he said because she completely blacked out but she knows she said yes!

For Katelyn & Julian, Austin holds some of their very best memories, and they couldn’t think of a better place to celebrate their marriage with the people they love most.

They are so excited to have their most special people all together in their most special place, including Millie and Winston. As they begin this next chapter, they ask for your prayers over their marriage and are so grateful for the part each of you has played in getting them here.
